Equipment

  • 3 mixing bowls
  • 1 electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 rectangular serving dish

Ingredients
  

Espresso and Liquor

  • cup strong brewed coffee or espresso (cooled)
  • ¼ cup dark rum (marsala wine or amaretto)

Mascarpone Cream

  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup nutella
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Layers

  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Coffee Soak: brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso and allow it to cool. Add the dark rum and mix.
  • Make Mascarpone Filling: in a bowl, beat the egg yolks with 1/2 cup of sugar until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and Nutella, and mix until well combined.
  • Whip Heavy Cream: in a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold it into the Nutella mascarpone mixture.
  • Beat Egg Whites: in another clean, dry bowl, whip the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and continue to beat until glossy peaks form.
  • Fold Egg Whites into Mascarpone Mixture: carefully fold the whipped egg whites into the Nutella mascarpone mixture until well incorporated.
  • Layering: dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee, ensuring they are well-soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the serving dish.
    Spread half of the Nutella mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers. Repeat the process for a second layer.
  • Chill: cover and refrigerate the Nutella Tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Dust with Cocoa: before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for an elegant finish.
