  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 saucepan


  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup sugar (60 g)
  • 2 ¾ tbsp corn starch (20 g)
  • 1 ¼ cups milk (300 ml) or plant-based milk
  • ¾ cup heavy cream (200 ml)
  • 2.11 oz dark chocolate (60 g)


  • Prepare the Chocolate Mixture: in a mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar and corn starch. Add a small amount of the milk, and whisk until you have a smooth paste.
  • Combine Ingredients: in a saucepan, combine the remaining milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  • Incorporate Cocoa Mixture: once simmering, slowly whisk in the cocoa and corn starch mixture. Boil and stir constantly until thickened.
  • Melt the Chocolate: remove the saucepan from the heat, add the chocolate cut into pieces and mix until it melts.
  • Cool and Refrigerate: transfer it to individual serving dishes or small jars and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully chilled.


  • Serve the chocolate pudding chilled, either on its own or topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. 
  • For a touch of sophistication, add a splash of vanilla extract or a tablespoon of your favorite liqueur.
