  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 medium pan
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 baking dish


Crumble top

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (125 g)
  • cup brown sugar (125 g)
  • ½ tsp vanilla sugar or pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 7 tbsp soft butter (100 g)


  • 5 apples
  • ½ lemon
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp water


Prepare the crumble top

  • In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, vanilla and salt then add the butter and work the dough with your fingertips, crumbling the butter until you obtain a sandy mix.
  • Mix the dough a little so that you obtain large pieces of dough. Reserve in the refrigerator
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.

Prepare the apples

  • Peel the apples, remove the core and seeds and cut them into cubes. Sprinkle them with the juice of half a lemon.
  • Cook them for a few minutes in a pan with a knob of butter, turning them constantly until they naturally caramelize slightly. Add 3 tablespoons of water, then 2 tablespoons of sugar and continue cooking for a minute.

Crumble baking

  • Place this mixture in your crumble dish, add the remaining sugar, cinnamon, flour and add 3 tablespoons of water again. Mix and arrange the crumble on top.
  • Bake for around 30 minutes, monitoring the cooking. When the crumble is golden brown and cooked, it's ready!


Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
